Opt Out of Indoctrination

Parents Trying to Muzzle Educrats

In California, the new Student Exemption Form allows parents to take some control over the content of material that is presented to their children by 'educators' :

"Given the ever-increasing attempts by educrats who believe 'we're the experts, you're just parents, and we know what is best for your child,' to impose their political agenda and views on students in public schools, it is vital that parents take an active part in the education of their children," said Gary Kreep, education attorney and executive director of the United States Justice Foundation (USJF), a conservative legal organization.

"Parents have important rights under state and federal law regarding the education of their children. The Student Exemption Form puts schools on legal notice that these rights must be respected, and gives parents a much stronger case if they are forced to sue," said Scott Lively, attorney and president of the Pro-Family Law Center.

These parents surely have the right to demand that schools stick to matters that relate to education in the 3 'R's versus indoctrinating their captive audience with liberal ideals. This 'opt out' seems to require teachers to leave their philosophy and beliefs at the door and stick to the basics of education. While trying to instill enough knowledge in their students so that they will at least have the ability to meet the minimum requirements of an increasingly complicated world, matters such as abortion and homosexuality are best left to the individual and their families. Given that schools are ill-equiped to present these issues in anything that remotely resembles a balanced light due to the curent mad politically correct atmosphere, they should most surely 'opt out'. If they won't do so voluntarily, then perhaps something like this idea will force them to leave such matters as abortion, the use of condoms, homosexuality and transexuality to the family.
